The following is a text-only tutorial on how to make a "Clear Window" button for Firefox. This is extremely basic computer stuff. Simply put, make a shortcut to a blank page and put it on your toolbar. For those who need an explanation:
- First, type "About:Blank" in your location bar
- Next, hit "bookmark"
- When asked for a name, type anything you want (I used Clear Screen)
- Make sure you add it to your BOOKMARKS TOOLBAR, as putting it in your actual bookmarks will take you as long to fetch it as it would to clear the screen.
- Anytime you hit this button, you will get a Blank Window to surf from

Might be a nice bit of homework to see if one can make this into a Firefox extension. That is, every time you're about to surf to a new website (typing in a new URL, following a link, etc. -- I imagine simply finding all these possible cases would take the longest time), you go to about:blank first.
You could call it "Burning Bridges" or...wait, even better, "Memento." Cuz like that guy in the movie, you can't make new memories. I think the movie was called "American Pie 2".
